Peter Prest

Peter Prest is a Calgary artist working in watercolours where he continually strives to elevate the commonplace and everyday to be special and celebrated. His interest is in catching energy and tension between the contributing elements in his compositions.

For the last four years, Peter has worked predominantly on watercolour canvases, which have provided him with a new and wonderfully exciting surface. Using broad strokes with flat brushes to reflect the emotions of the moment, Peter has evolved a style deliberately expressive with colour, value and texture creating an awareness of energy and movement.

Peter's work is displayed with the Rose Hip Gallery in Calgary and his paintings can also be viewed in his gallery at the Leading Edge.
